Experience

Alex Wall has nearly a decade of practice experience from the perspectives of large firm, in-house and small firm practice. He has served as General Counsel for smaller private companies engaged in software development and SaaS and as a litigation attorney. Alex has an intuitive sense for the business challenges of his clients and is adept at putting himself in their shoes, enabling them to achieve more.

Alex has been a strong advocate for clean energy, green building and green transportation as member of E2, the business voice for the environment (www.e2.org) since 2007, and currently helps lead the Pacific Northwest chapter. In this role he has summarized legislation, advocated for, and tracked progress in alternative energy policy. Alex also serves the Sustainable Future Section of the Oregon bar and co-chaired its Task Force on Climate Change.

Alex practices in areas that support the growth of innovative green businesses, such as: entity formation, asset purchases, commercial contracts, data privacy law (CIPP/US certified), IT and software development security practices, licensing, employee/employer disputes, business entity formation and agreements, and intellectual property (licensing, SaaS, trade secrets, confidentiality, and nondisclosure).

Alex is licensed in New York and Oregon, and practices in both federal and state courts.

Alex received his B.A. from Colby College in Maine, studying primarily Economics, French, Japanese, East Asian History, and Physics. After several years of working in IT and education, Alex received his J.D. from the University of Maine.

Alex, a frequent bike commuter, rode his bicycle from San Francisco to Maine with a friend after college. Alex enjoys languages. He is fluent in French, has studied Japanese, German, and Spanish extensively, and is currently learning Mandarin. Alex, originally from Maine, enjoys bread baking, gardening and spending time with his wife and dog.
